How to clean a shower
Do you want to get a spotless shower with minimal scrubbing? Your shower can attract bacteria, grime, and mildew, but my step-by-step guide will keep it sparkling fresh using simple ingredients!
Steps to Clean the Shower
First, remove all your gels and razors, wiping them down with a warm soapy cloth to remove any sticky build-up.
- Target Mould: Spray white vinegar directly onto affected areas and leave for 30 minutes. For tile grout, use an OXO grout brush to scrub the vinegar in.
- Stubborn Taps: Dab on Scrub Daddy PowerPaste and leave for 10 minutes to break down build-up.
- Glass & Walls: Spray Astonish Bathroom Spray liberally. Scrub, rinse, and buff with a microfibre cloth.
Shower Door Seal
Remove the rubber seal and pop it in the sink with warm soapy water. Scrub with a toothbrush, spritz with vinegar, and ensure it's dry before putting it back.
The Shower Drain
Use a drain snake to pull out gunk. Once cleared, use Kilrock Plughole Unblocker to keep things flowing freely.
The Shower Head Deep Clean
Half-fill a bag with white vinegar and secure it over the shower head with a rubber band. Leave for an hour to break down mineral deposits.
- For waterfall heads, drench a tea towel in vinegar and wrap it around.
- Use a toothpick to poke through any blocked holes to ensure the perfect flow.
- Finish by polishing with a clean, dry microfibre cloth for that extra shine.
LYNSEY'S TOP TIP: Keep a squeegee in your shower and use it after every use to remove water and prevent hard water spots from building up!
