Limescale removal from your toilet
If you live in a hard water area, limescale can build up at the bottom of your toilet easily, making it look dirty all the time. Bleach only whitens the scale—it doesn't remove it! Let's get that brown build-up gone for good.
How to Remove Limescale from the Pan
Start by popping on a pair of rubber gloves and follow these steps:
- Empty the Water: Use your toilet brush to push water down the U-bend or scoop it out with an old plastic cup.
- Dry the Bottom: Use an old towel or strong kitchen paper to get the pan as dry as possible.
- The Solution: Pour in a strong limescale remover and leave it to sit for at least half an hour.
- The Finish: Flush to bring the water back. If stubborn bits remain, use steel wool or a pumice stone to rub them away—they won't scratch the porcelain!
Eco-Friendly Maintenance
To keep the scale away, drop a denture tablet down the loo once a week before bed. Alternatively, pour 20ml of white vinegar into the pan and leave it to work its magic overnight. Wipe the exterior with a microfibre cloth for a perfect finish.
Why it Matters
Limescale is a hard mineral deposit that grabs onto any imperfections. The more it builds, the more scale it collects! Keep the rest of the unit fresh with an antibacterial spray. Pair this with a glitter toilet seat and ensure your hinges are tight to keep your bathroom looking its absolute best.
