The messiest stains at easter time

Easter Stain Removal Guide | Queen of Clean
Easter Eggs and Spring Flowers

Who doesn’t love chocolate Easter Eggs? The Easter weekend is a traditional time for egg hunts and mountains of treats, but those yummy goodies can lead to tricky stains. If you catch them quickly, they aren't a problem, but left untreated, they can really set into the fabric!

Tackling Easter Weekend Stains

Grass & Mud

For grass, apply a stain remover or laundry detergent and rub with a toothbrush. For mud, pre-soak in cold water with 3 tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda for an hour before washing.

Chocolate Treats

Gently scrape off excess chocolate with a blunt knife. Flush with cold water from the back of the fabric—never use hot water first as it sets the stain! Soak in detergent for 30 minutes before washing.

Buttery Hot Cross Buns

Lift solid butter with a spoon, then dab (don't rub!) the area. Sprinkle with cornstarch or talcum powder for 15 minutes to absorb the oil before treating with washing up liquid.

On-the-Go Fixes

If you're out and about when a grass stain hits, grab your hand sanitiser! The alcohol helps break down the green pigments until you can get home to wash it properly.

PRO TIP: If a grass stain is stubborn, try a bit of hairspray! The alcohol content helps lift the pigment—just spray, let it dry, and scrub gently.
