How to remove sticker residue
Whether you’re dealing with label adhesive on a glass jar you want to recycle or kids who love putting stickers everywhere, removing residue can be a challenge. The good news? It's super easy with the right tools!
Natural Kitchen Solvents
You likely already have these winners in your cupboards for a safe, non-toxic clean:
- Olive Oil & White Vinegar: Apply a thin layer of oil, scrub with a recycled toothbrush, then spray with vinegar and wipe with a dry cloth. Finish with washing up liquid to remove any oil.
- Orange Oil: Whether it's wood restorer or orange essential oil, it works wonders. Soak the area and scrape the adhesive away effortlessly.
WD-40
Spray WD-40 generously to soak the sticky area. Let it sit for a few minutes to work its magic, then use a dry rag or a plastic scraper to lift the adhesive right off.
Alcohol & Acetone
Soak a cotton pad in rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover. Saturate the sticker, repeat twice, then use a plastic scraper to peel it away slowly.
PRO TIP: Always use a plastic scraper rather than a metal one to avoid scratching your glass or furniture surfaces!
