How to tackle the 5 hardest cleaning jobs

Tackling Tricky Cleaning Spots | Queen of Clean
Kitchen cleaning in progress

When you’re cleaning your home, there are always those areas that you absolutely dread doing. But the good news is, there is usually a way around it! Here is how to make those tricky spots much easier for yourself.

Hard To Reach Dust

Edges of picture frames and the tops of kitchen cupboards are often missed. Invest in a duster with an extendable handle to reach high spots without a struggle. Remember: the more you vacuum, the less dust will settle in those frustrating spots!

A Greasy Hob

Don't wait for grease to dry! Spray kitchen cleaner immediately after cooking and let it sit while you eat. Use a microfibre cloth to soak up the grime—rinse it out between wipes to ensure you're actually picking up the grease.

PRO TIP: Use a hairdryer to clean behind radiators! Set it to the highest setting to blow out the hidden dust, just make sure to lay a damp towel underneath to catch the debris.

Tackling the Bathroom

Behind The Toilet

This is a germ hotspot! While a floating toilet is a great long-term solution, for now, use a mop with an adjustable head. However, the best way is still getting on your hands and knees for a thorough scrub regularly so dirt doesn't build up.

The Mouldy Shower Curtain

To kill black mould, pop your curtain in the washing machine with baking soda and vinegar alongside your detergent. Always pull the curtain across after your shower so it can air dry properly.

Radiator Maintenance

Turn the heating off before cleaning. Use a specific radiator brush to get inside the fins. Keeping them dust-free ensures they work efficiently and saves you money on your heating bills!

Cleaning these areas is only a pain when we avoid them until it’s too late. Suck it up and do them regularly—it’ll save you so much trouble down the line!
