Washing your Bra’s
Did you know that washing your bras too often wears out the fabric and elastic? If you want them to last it’s important to give your bras a little TLC. I have put together a few simple tips which I am hoping help the lifespan of your bras.
Machine Washing Tips
If you choose to use the machine, always wash your bras with care to prevent snagging and stretching:
Machine Rules
- Always do the clasps up at the back so they don't catch on other items.
- Try to wash bras separate—maybe do a bra load every week or every other week.
- Choose a delicate cool cycle under 40 degrees and a slower spin.
- Don't wring them out and reshaped the cups as they come out.
Essential Gear
Use a delicate laundry detergent or a silk and wool detergent. If washing with other clothes, always use laundry bags to stop them getting tangled, but don't over-stuff them!
Hand Washing Your Bras
Fill a bowl with warm water and add in your detergent. Soak for an hour and gently rub the fabric together to remove any marks and ground-in dirt. Rinse with cold water and pat dry using an old towel before hanging to dry.
Your regular day-to-day bras should be replaced yearly as they lose their elasticity and will no longer provide proper support. Thanks for reading!
