Sausage Shepherd's Pie

This one is based on the family favourite shepherd's pie, but if like me not everyone in your family likes the texture of mince meat, you can switch it up for sausages!

How to make

1

Boil & Brown

Add potato chunks to a large pot of boiling water; cook until knife tender. In a separate pan with olive oil, brown off the sausages. Remove them, then add chopped onions and green veg, cooking until soft.

2

Simmer the Filling

Chop the sausages into chunks and add them back to the pan with the vegetables. Stir in the stock, Worcester sauce, and tomato puree. Simmer until nice and thick, then pour into a baking dish.

3

The Perfect Mash

Mash the potatoes with butter and milk using a masher. Once smooth, stir in your Dijon mustard and grated cheddar cheese for a rich flavor.

4

Top & Bake

Dollop the mash onto the sausages, working from the outside in. Rough up the top with a fork and bake in a preheated oven for 20 minutes at 200°C until golden and bubbly.

Serving: A comforting family favourite that's perfect for a cozy night in!
